So, you’ve been lucky enough to get your hands on Nissan’s latest offering of raw 3.7 litre V6 power. We’re guessing you’ve realised that the car has so much more to offer than what it left the factory with and decided it’s time to release its full potential?

If so, you’ve come to the right place – we’ve compiled the ultimate exhaust guide just for you!

At Drifted, we know all too well that with any stock car purchase it’s near-impossible to resist the endless possibilities that are available in the tuning world.

Looking for more power? Our intake, 370z turbo kit and supercharger guides will point you in the right direction.

Following the success of the 350Z, Nissan decided in 2009 that it’s time for a new beast to enter the market. Their goal was to maintain the ideology that made the 350Z so unique whilst also improving on many aspects. Before we knew it, the Nissan 370Z was born.

There’s no doubt that whatever manufacturers improve on, the aftermarket tuning world will continue to push out even more substantial gains whilst providing better sounds and looks that’ll make your Z34 stand out from the crowd on the road, at a meet or on the track.

  • Manufacturer: HKS

  • Primary exhaust system material: 304 Stainless Steel
  • Value for money: ????
  • Purchase link: Buy your HKS Hi-Power 370Z Exhaust here

Our comment: The HKS Hi-Power exhaust is a Japanese classic and once again they’ve pulled it out of the bag with this work of art. Enjoy the subtle sounds until you plant your foot to the floor to let her roar. This is another great choice for those who are after the quieter option for daily driving. However, we doubt you’ll be able to resist hearing the sounds it produces as it screams its way to the redline!

Manufacturer description: “Inspired and designed from endurance and GT racing in Japan, HKS developed its Hi-Power Exhaust system for both turbocharged and naturally aspirated applications.”

“HKS has incorporated this new race inspired offset muffler and piping design into many street applications, which offers a greater flow and higher RPM power gains due to the less restrictive design. This is achieved by eliminating unnecessary bends for the straightest exhaust path.”

“For turbocharged applications, the large and smooth exhaust flow allows greater exhaust velocity for better mid-range boost response and high-RPM power. Naturally aspirated vehicles also benefit from greater exhaust flow capacity as engine tuning levels increase.”

Berk Technology 370Z Exhaust

Berk Technology 370Z Exhaust

  • Manufacturer: Berk Technology
  • Internal pipe diameter: Twin 64mm (2.5″)
  • Primary exhaust system material: Stainless Steel
  • Value for money: ????
  • Purchase link: Discontinued

Our comment: Berk Technology’s popular offering is the most affordable of our selection so far. This beautifully crafted exhaust provides a deep yet mellow exhaust note while keeping a neat stock-looking finish to the rear end of the car with the outside sound providing a much more aggressive, clean sound.

Manufacturer description: “Backed by years of experience in building championship winning race cars, Berk Technology has applied the same knowledge into their line of street exhaust systems for the 370Z. The Berk Technology 370Z dual exhaust system was designed from the ground up as a no compromise system that unlocks the potential of the potent Nissan VQ37VHR motor.”

“Through testing and R&D we discovered the most optimal X-pipe design which is unique to our product. Our design utilizes a tangential siamesed X-pipe design that proved to make the most power on the 370Z and is one of the secrets behind our wide power gains and clean sound. Once you install this system on your 370Z the first thing you’ll notice is our signature sound.”

“It will still keep the same sound character of the 370Z, but adds a slightly exotic note that is intoxicating to the automotive enthusiast. Another great benefit is that our systems are tuned to be near silent at cruise and will only come alive during heavier throttle application. There is zero intrusive cabin drone or unpleasant harshness.”

Tomei Expreme Titanium 370Z Exhaust

Tomei Expreme Titanium 370Z Exhaust

  • Manufacturer: Tomei Expreme Titanium
  • Internal pipe diameter: 80mm (3”)
  • Tailpipe configuration: Single 115mm (4.5″) tip
  • Primary exhaust system material: Titanium
  • Value for money: ?????
  • Purchase link: Buy your Tomei Expreme Titanium 370Z Exhaust here

Our comment: Weighing in at an insane 13lbs (5.7kg) is Tomei’s offering, despite an extremely impressive 18.8kg weight loss, this single-exhaust system is perhaps not for everyone. If you’re purely weight loss and performance – the Tomei is quite possibly the best choice for the money. However, with the 370Z’s body design made with twin exits in mind – having a single large Jap-style exhaust poking out the rear is an acquired taste.

Featuring far fewer bends than other offerings, the large diameter, high-flow design of the exhaust is fantastic for performance but not so great for those who are after a quieter drive.

Manufacturer description: “With an overall dramatic performance improvement & weight reduction, breathe new life into your 370Z.”

“This Tomei Expreme Ti Exhaust system is truly a high-quality production part, for true competition use without compromise. Only the best Titanium grade materials are used in the production of the components. From the special racing layout design, created as straight as possible, to the high flow silencer, Tomei has poured their extensive knowledge of Japanese vehicles into this design. When you see and weigh the EXPREME Ti system, you will understand that this exhaust system has no rivals.”

From the special racing layout design, made as straight as possible, to the high flow silencer. We have poured our knowledge into it all. • Tailpipe configuration: Twin 110mm tips (4.3”)
  • Primary exhaust system material: Stainless Steel
  • Value for money: ?????
  • Purchase link: Buy your Invidia Gemini 370Z Exhaust

Our comment: Boasting a subtle design with burnt tips, Invidia bring another very reasonable and extremely popular option to the market.

Although slightly louder than some of our earlier offerings, it is still tame enough to be a good highway cruiser until the deep growl unleashes an entirely different beast around the 2.5-4.5k rev range.

Manufacturer description: “The Invidia Gemini Exhaust is the latest in the Invidia line of beautiful exhaust systems that feature fully polished stainless steel piping with mandrel bent tubing, and one of the best sounds you will hear from any performance exhaust!”

  • Tailpipe configuration: Twin 110mm tips (4.3”)
  • Primary exhaust system material: Stainless Steel
  • Value for money: ????
  • Purchase link: Buy your ARK DT-S Exhaust here

Our comment: With arguably one of the best sounding options, ARK have listened to the people when designing their great-looking exhaust. Despite having the popular burnt tip option, there’s also the choice to go down the traditional stainless steel route. This exhaust features quiet cruising speeds which open up to deep intoxicating acoustics to show off that awesome VQ tone.

  • Manufacturer: Manzo
  • Internal pipe diameter: 64mm (2.5”)
  • Tailpipe configuration: Twin 102mm tip (4”)
  • Primary exhaust system material: Stainless Steel
  • Value for money: ???
  • Purchase link: Buy your Manzo 370Z Exhaust here

Our comment: By far the cheapest offering from our list, this Manzo exhaust offers great value for money for those who are looking to go down the lower-budget route.

We can’t deny that the exhaust sounds great despite some drone noise and when fitted under the car, it certainly looks good too! If you are simply looking for a better flowing exhaust without being worried about perfect welds or running a name brand, this may well be a great affordable option for you!

Manufacturer description: “Manzo is built by a large big name performance tuning company, so you get a quality product but at an affordable price.”

  • Tailpipe configuration: Twin 114mm tips (4.5”)
  • Primary exhaust system material: Stainless Steel
  • Value for money: ?????
  • Purchase link: Buy your Fast Intentions exhuast here!

Our comment: This fantastic mid-range offering from US-based Fast Intentions is the first choice for many owners. Each exhaust is made in-house to order at their US factory to extremely high standards with great fitment. With an epic deep, throaty, exotic-sounding note, it’s easy to see why this is the go-to option for so many owners.

Our only downsides would be a slight drone in the upper gears and it perhaps sits a little lower than those who require high ground clearance would like. With a choice of tips available, great looks and an epic sound, it’s definitely one to consider.

Manufacturer description: “Fast Intentions is proud to present our 370Z TDXCat Back Exhaust System.”

“This Cat-Back exhaust system is the premier upgrade for all 370Z owners looking to maximize the performance of their VQ37VHR V6 engine. Our cat back exhaust system will enhance the sound that Nissan created from the factory by making it deeper, smoother, and louder.”

“Built as a direct OEM replacement, our exhaust system is easy to install with simple hand tools; no cutting or welding required. Our X Pipe is designed to increase low-end torque and maximize power throughout the entire RPM band. The exhaust note is unobtrusive at idle and cruising speeds but comes to life at wide open throttle. With the addition of our cat back exhaust system, you will improve the aesthetics of your vehicle with its sporty and aggressive appearance.”

Our comment: Weighing in at just 9.2kg, this incredible STTI titanium offering from Amuse is undoubtedly the unicorn of the 370Z exhaust world. Despite being visually stunning insanely lightweight and providing an incredible soundtrack, this comes at a cost.

With prices starting at $3,295, expect to fork out an eye-watering $7,485 for the quad-exit alternative. If money is no object, this could quite possibly be the exhaust for the perfect finishing touch to your 370Z!

ISR Performance ST Series 370Z Exhaust

isr performance st series dual 370z exhaust

  • Manufacturer: ISR Performance
  • Internal pipe diameter: Twin 64mm (2.5″)
  • Tailpipe configuration: Twin 102mm tip (4”)
  • Primary exhaust system material: Stainless Steel
  • Value for money: ????
  • Purchase link: Buy your ISR Performance ST Series exhaust here!

Our comment: ISR Performance is well-known for bringing some of the most reasonably-priced options to the market.

Although it doesn’t come in quite as cheap as the Manzo, we feel that this is reflected in the quality, and we do not doubt that many will agree that ISR’s ST (Street) Series is worth the extra cost if funds allow.

While this is louder than the stock exhaust, it’s not excessively so for those considering options for your daily driver.

Providing a deeper growl over the OEM offering from Nissan, we feel it sounds fantastic, with no significant difference for highway driving, but it comes alive when you hit the gas.

We feel that the ISR Performance ST Series exhaust offers an excellent value-for-money option and nicely sets off the Z’s sleek styling.

Manufacturer description: “The ISR Performance ST Series Exhaust for Nissan 370Z is a Y-Pipe Back exhaust system that utilizes a Stainless steel 2 bolt 3″ flange that splits into 2 2.5″ pipes with bottle style resonators and continues back to an aggressive muffler section with 4” tips.”

“This exhaust gives your car not only a great look but a deep tone that every enthusiast is looking for. Our ISR 370Z Street Exhaust is design to bolt directly to the vehicles stock Y- pipes replacing the mid-pipe and factory rear muffler.

Our winner

There’s no doubt that exhaust choices are mostly down to personal preference. Each person may prefer the look or sound of a certain exhaust and each one in this guide will see improvements over the restrictive stock mufflers.

Our winner is Invidia Gemini.

We couldn’t ignore the specifications, features, quality of build materials and price point of our winner, the Invidia Gemini. Already an extremely popular offering among 370Z owners, the value for money while providing an incredible soundtrack and great quality, we felt it just couldn’t be beaten.

Invidia Gemini

Invidia Gemini

Runner-up

The winner of our 350Z exhaust guide returns, this time as runner up. Despite it’s incredibly low price, insanely low weight and good looks, the Invidia Gemini ticked more of the correct boxes. The Tomei Expreme is loud, in your face and won’t suit everyone’s taste, but as far as money goes – it’s quite possibly the most tempting option!

If you’re looking for the best upgrades for your Nissan 370Z, then we’ve covered everything you need to know to build the ultimate Z-car in this comprehensive guide.

370z mods

Introduction

With the insane popularity witnessed with the 350Z, Nissan confirmed their suspicions that the world had been craving a reasonably priced, dedicated two-seater sports car, which was still capable of providing the modern luxuries that we’ve come to expect from the current markets.

With the production of the 350Z eventually ceasing in 2008, Nissan decided soon after that it was time to unveil the birth of the sixth-generation Fairlady - the 370Z.

Implementing all of the vital positives of its highly-acclaimed predecessor, Nissan took the opportunity to build and improve on their previous successes, making for a stunning end-product with the latest Fairlady.

With its initial response initially met with a mixed reaction upon launch, some enthusiasts claimed that the successor perhaps lacked the major transformation that they’d expected.

In response to the claims, Nissan explained that they built the 370Z from the ground-up, with each part, and component, replaced for their new build.

With the 370Z featuring a shorter wheelbase of 4” and also 2.7” reduced on the cars overall length, despite decreasing its length, they made it broader, with the 370 becoming 1.3” more expansive, and 2.2” added to the rear track.

slammed nissan 370z car show

For the engine, Nissan opted for their modern-day equivalent of its highly-acclaimed VQ-series engines found in the 350Z with the impressive 3.7-liter, VQ37VHR.

With 330hp on tap in stock-form, it was enough to put a grin on your face on the street, but it was the untapped potential that got both tuning houses and enthusiasts curious as to what these seemingly bulletproof engines were truly capable of achieving.

From there, not only has the engine been put through its paces over the years, with numerous huge-power builds grabbing the attention of the tuning scene, but the 370Z has proven that it takes exceptionally well to modifications.

With the aftermarket scene not only achieving incredible power figures from the engine but also refining the handling of the chassis to perfection, the 370Z has earned its spot as one of the best tuner cars available on the market today.

We’ve built this guide to help you transform your Nissan 370Z from the path that Nissan intended to create the perfect all-arounder, which you’ll be able to design to suit your unique preferences.

Upgrades are the beauty of modifying your ride exactly how you’ve visualized your Z, and we’ll show you the very best parts available on the market to help you achieve your goals.

Whether you’re looking to carry out the essential upgrades to improve the looks and sounds of your Z or you’re planning to go full-retard with a turbocharged track weapon – we’ll explore everything you need to know.

370Z Handling Upgrades

I’m sure some of you will be screaming ‘SHOW ME THE POWARRR!’, but power is nothing without handling.

Sure, we all want to get the most from our engine, but the first step to handling, and also looks, lies within the suspension.

Nissan upgraded many chassis elements to improve the weight and also the rigidity of the 370Z.

With the likes of aluminum and carbon fiber found throughout the car, this helps keep the weight to a minimum, while also providing superior chassis strength.

On top of that, the front double-wishbone suspension with forged aluminum arms and knuckles were among the most significant updates over its predecessor.

The inclusion of a ‘V-bar’ also helped to improve rigidity by up to 30% by reducing the rear lateral bending.

These upgrades made for some noticeable improvements, but you’ll be glad to hear that there’s a simple way to tighten up the car and make a substantial difference in the handling department, and this is where coilovers join the party.

370Z Coilovers

Although some may associate coilovers with slamming your car to the ground and scraping your way to the local meet, this certainly isn’t the case.

Coilovers are fully adjustable and allow for an impressive amount of suspension adjustment for the price.

For example, if you’re looking to improve your handling, we’d recommend dropping the 370Z around 20mm on your coilovers, which is perfectly safe without flaring the arches on your Z with the right wheel setup

Doing so will improve the handling, reduce body roll, and also allow you to dial in the correct suspension settings to maximize grip.

We highly recommend getting a professional to set up your tracking correctly, and you can easily choose between a drift, fast-road, track, or even drag setup.

If you’re planning to be improving your 370Z’s performance, you must be able to put the power down efficiently, and grip is particularly vital when it comes to drifting.

If you haven’t got the budget for coilovers just yet, then you can always consider is lowering springs.

Our experience has shown that most owners end up upgrading to coilovers shortly after, so we’d recommend going straight down that route to save doing things again later.

Unfortunately, ‘buy cheap, buy twice’ is undoubtedly valid when it comes to the tuning scene!

Drifted 370Z Coilover Choice

KW Variant 3 370Z Coilovers

kwvariant3 370z coilovers

  • Manufacturer: KW
  • Levels of damping adjustment: 14
  • Construction type: Monotube
  • Spring rate front: Progressive spring (listed as 230lbs/in)
  • Spring rate rear: Progressive spring (listed as 230lbs/in)
  • Purchase link: Buy your KW Variant 3 370Z Coilovers here

In our 370Z coilover guide, it was German suspension experts KW that we feel provided the ultimate all-rounder when it came to coilovers.

370Z owners have been blown away by this offering from KW for some time, and the ability to provide excellent road comfort while also setting impressive lap times on the track leaves no questions on why owners are so impressed.

Manufacturer description: “Ready for a driving experience as unique as your car? A KW Suspensions Variant 3 coilover set offer you the independent compression and rebound damping setup you need”.

State-of-the-art technology from motor sports for more performance on the road. The separate and independently adjustable rebound- and compression damping allows for an individual suspension setup for different uses and preferences. The unique patented system with its two-stage valves allows a rebound damping adjustment (comfort) and a compression adjustment (driving dynamics) in the low-speed range while the high-speed range which controls the driving safety, is fixed“.

Drifted 370Z Coilover Alternatives

bc racing br 370z coilovers

Although we don’t always recommend going with cheaper products, BC Racing’s BR series has proven itself time and time again and is a real bargain for 370Z owners on a tighter budget.

They offer a firm but not crashy ride, which is still ideal for street use, yet more than capable for the money when you head to the track.

hks hipermax iv 370z coilovers

For those of you that want nothing but the best for your Z, then look no further than the Hipermax IV SP from JDM tuning legends, HKS.

This option combines fantastic ride comfort, which is close to stock comfort levels and superb handling.

These are certainly a competitor for the KW V3’s, and the decision may boil down to personal preference, particularly if you’re keen to stick with JDM products on your Z.

If you’re considering going down the lowering springs route, then we’d recommend taking a look at the Whiteline WSK-NIS002 Lowering Spring Kit.

For those of you that are interested in carrying out further handling upgrades, then we highly recommend taking a look at these additional handling upgrades to unleash the ultimate potential from your 370Z’s handling:

If you’re serious about drifting, then we highly recommend also taking a look into the Wisefab kit that’s now available for the 370Z, which will help you achieve insane amounts of lock and angle.

Assuming you’re not already familiar with what Wisefab kits have to offer, we highly recommend taking a look at them, particularly for those of you that are considering competitive drifting. However, you’ll want to make sure they’re eligible for the intended competition.

370Z Performance Upgrades

Once you’ve unlocked the most out of your Z’s handling potential, it’s time to consider upgrading the power.

Sure, it has a decent amount from the factory, but despite Nissan’s weight-saving efforts, it’s still not a light car, so now that you’ve got it handling well, it’s time to explore the potential which lies in wait under the hood.

From bolt-on breathing mods, right the way through to high-powered turbo kits, we’ve got everything you need to know when it comes to extracting power from your V6 powerplant.

370Z Cold Air Intake

CAI’s are one of the most common initial upgrades that 370Z owners consider, thanks to their cheap price tag and ease of fitting.

A Cold Air Intake is a fantastic way to provide additional cooling and oxygen to your engine; this improves the sound and responsiveness and also frees up a few extra horses.

Don’t expect any substantial power gains from installing a CAI, but it’s the perfect complement to any additional supporting upgrades you may be considering, from an aftermarket exhaust, right the way through to forced induction.

Drifted 370Z Cold Air Intake Choice

Stillen Gen 3 Ultra Long Tube 370Z Intake

stillen gen 3 air intake filter nissan 370z intake

It was the Stillen Gen 3 Ultra Long Tube Intake Kit that took the win in our 370Z Intake Guide.

Stillen claims 17.5hp gains from this CARB-legal kit on the 370z, which is the highest ‘proven’ (dyno) gains out there. We do feel that this may be a little ambitious, though, so take it with a pinch of salt.

However, regardless of the power claims, thousands of delighted owners have verified that this is the best choice out there, and we can’t argue that it looks fantastic when installed.

When combined with the typical quality that we’ve come to expect from the industry-leaders over the years, it’s easy to see why this CAI such a popular choice.

Having tested more than 50 different variations before coming up with their final design, this shows the attention-to-detail that goes into providing such an excellent product for the market.

Manufacturer description: “STILLEN’s continuing dedication to getting the maximum performance from each vehicle has lead to the introduction of the new Generation 3 Ultra Long Tube Intake. This intake has a radically new design that provides dramatically better power than any intake on the market for the VQ37 equipped vehicles. STILLEN’s R&D team went engineered and dyno tested more than 50 variations before being satisfied that this system is the best that can be made for the VQ37 engines“.

The new Gen 3 Ultra Long Tube Intake places two large K&N filters in front of the radiator. Strategic placement of the filters allow for optimum cold air flow and easy filter removal for cleaning. It features additional polished tubes that pass through the front core support, larger air filters than the Generation 2 unit. On some applications such as the G37 a urethane splash guard is included in the kit to help protect the filter. This is only necessary on vehicles with larger grill openings from the factory. All kits feature a system of varied diameter tubing and steps to maximize air velocity“.

Drifted 370Z Cold Air Intake Alternatives

Takeda offers another fantastic alternative with their Stage-2 Pro Dry S Intake System, which provides a small saving over the Stillen kit, taking our Budget Choice Award.

If you’re determined to stick with the JDM route, then the HKS Racing Suction Kit won the Drifted Premium Choice award.

370Z Exhaust

A cat-back exhaust will undoubtedly be another one of the first considerations on your upgrades list, and quite rightly so.

An exhaust will not only improve the looks and performance, but it’ll also be a vital element when it comes to achieving your power goals.

Stock exhausts are restrictive, and since your engine performs as its peak when it can quickly extract the gases, a free-flowing exhaust is an essential requirement.

Aftermarket exhausts aren’t too bank-breaking, yet they’re easy to install, and they’ll be one of the most transformational upgrades you’ll make with regards to the looks, sound, and power.

Thanks to the twin-exit style from stock on the 370Z, it leaves an exciting array of upgrade options available to suit various requirements.

Once you’ve installed your CAI and cat-back, you’ll want to take a look at the Headers and Y-Pipe choices below to ensure optimum efficiency throughout your exhaust setup.

Drifted 370Z Exhaust Choice

Invidia Gemini 370Z Exhaust

invidia gemini exhaust

  • Manufacturer: Invidia
  • Internal pipe diameter: 60mm (2.3”)
  • Tailpipe configuration: Twin 110mm tips (4.3”)
  • Primary exhaust system material: Stainless Steel
  • Purchase link: Buy your Invidia Gemini 370Z Exhaust here

Invidia’s Gemini exhaust grabbed the win in our 370Z Exhaust Guide.

Boasting a subtle design with burnt tips, Invidia brings another very reasonable and popular option to the market.

Although slightly louder than some of the alternative offerings, it is still tame enough to be a good highway cruiser until the deep growl unleashes an entirely different beast around the 2.5-4.5k rev range.

Manufacturer description: “The Invidia Gemini Exhaust is the latest in the Invidia line of beautiful exhaust systems that feature fully polished stainless steel piping with mandrel bent tubing, and one of the best sounds you will hear from any performance exhaust!”

Drifted 370Z Exhaust Alternatives

If you don’t mind having a rather loud single-exit exhaust, then the Tomei Expreme Ti is an incredible choice for the money. We would personally opt for this one, but we understand that it’s not to everyone’s taste.

If you’re on a budget, then the Manzo Dual 370Z Exhaust provides good performance for the price, but we’d personally save up a few extra bucks for a superior product.

370Z Test Pipes

Test Pipes will completely replace the 370Z’s catalytic converters, which are incredibly restrictive in stock form.

However, be warned, these will not only make your car significantly louder, but they’re also likely to fail the emissions laws when it comes to inspection, as they’re illegal in most states and countries.

On the flip-side, these are a cheap and straightforward bolt-on modification that can often provide power gains of around 10hp.

There are certainly not many products on the market that are capable of providing as much power for a couple of hundred bucks.

Although they’re not entirely convenient, they’re definitely worth the effort when it comes to performance and ensuring that your VQ engine is capable of extracting the gases as freely as possible.

Drifted 370Z Test Pipes Choice

Motordyne 370Z Advanced Resonance Tuning (ART) Test Pipes

motordyne 370z test pipes

The Motordyne 370Z Advanced Resonance Tuning (ART) pipes deservedly took the win in our 370Z Test Pipes guide.

Where most test pipes are a simple connecting pipe, Motordyne has gone out of their way and done countless hours of research to bring this unique product to the market with separate resonance chambers.

These are well-known for being quieter, as well as removing some of the less-desirable sounds that can often come with test pipes such as excessive rasp and drone to bring you the ultimate combination of performance and harmonics in a great-looking package.

Sure, they’re not the cheapest option, but these are the perfect solution for those of you that want the ultimate product for your Z. Unsurprisingly, these are the most popular choice among owners.

Manufacturer description: “Through countless hours of research and development a new path has been explored in the never-ending quest for performance. A method of directly altering exhaust harmonics for enhanced performance and sound, Advanced Resonance Tuning (ART)”.

ART pipes for increased power and torque without the drastic increase in loudness normally associated with test pipes. ART pipes provide the quietest, smoothest, deepest sound of any test pipe while greatly reducing or eliminating rasp and drone. The difference in sound is not subtle. They’re not conventional test pipes. They’re ART pipes!

Drifted 370Z Test Pipes Alternatives

The Drifted Budget Choice award went to the ISR Performance Stainless Steel Resonated Test Pipes, which offer decent quality and fitment. For a cheap resonated setup, you can’t go wrong with these.

Another bargain, which took the Runner-Up Choice in our guide, was the Berk 370Z Non-Resonated Test Pipes.

They’re one of the cheapest offerings on our list, but thankfully they haven’t compromised on quality, which is why the Berk test pipes are the most popular non-resonated cats available.

Sure, they’re certainly going to be loud, since they’re a straight-through pipe, but they’re well made and will sound incredible while also providing significant power gains.

370Z Headers

Headers complete the perfect exhaust setup alongside the intake and cat-back, providing the final piece to your bolt-on exhaust puzzle when it comes to freeing up the untapped potential.

If you opt for long-tube headers, these will override your cats, which will once again potentially fail emissions testing.

For those of you that are planning to go down the forced induction or NOS routes, with your build, headers will be another essential addition.

Headers are notoriously challenging to fit on the 370Z, and we would expect the job to take around six hours, even with the right equipment and a qualified mechanic.

For that reason, we recommend considering heat-wrapping your headers before fitting, to avoid the headache of potentially deciding to do so further down the line.

It may sound too good to be true, but heat wrap is proven to improve engine bay temperatures by up to fifty percent and is undoubtedly a worthwhile addition for your build.

Drifted 370Z Headers Choice

Fast Intentions Long Tube 370Z Headers

fastintentions 370z headers

It was Fast Intentions that took the Drifted 370Z Headers Choice award in our 370Z Headers guide.

FI is known for releasing some of the best products on the market, and their 370Z long tube headers are no exception, providing impeccable quality alongside some of the most significant performance gains.

Manufacturer description: “This is the worlds first “production” long tube header for the Nissan 370Z. The premier upgrade for all 370Z owners looking maximize the performance output of their VQ37VHR naturally aspirated or supercharged engine. With the addition of these headers all restriction created by the OEM exhaust manifolds and catalytic converters will be eliminated”.

Built as a direct OEM replacement, our long tube headers bolt right in; no cutting or welding required. The 1-5/8″ primary tubes are mandrel bent to maximize exhaust flow and efficiency“.

Drifted 370Z Headers Alternatives

If you’re looking to save some cash for other mods, the Megan Racing headers are a decent alternative, but given the amount of effort to replace them if you change your mind, it may be worth going with a premium option right away.

Speaking of premium, it doesn’t get much more so than this incredible offering from JDM legends, Powerhouse Amuse.

For all you lottery winners out there, this is definitely the ultimate choice.

These guys are known for being titanium wizards, and this work of art weighs in at a ridiculous 2.7kg!

If you’re opting for the ultimate build, where the money is no issue, these will undoubtedly offer you incredible strength and durability to go with your power gains.

Make sure you pair these headers with their Titanium exhaust for the ultimate combination, which is guaranteed to leave any Z-car enthusiast drooling.

370Z Forced Induction

Once you’ve installed the available bolt-on upgrades, yet you’re still not satisfied with the power, it’s time to consider going down the forced induction route.

There are two possibilities when it comes to the 370Z, and we put them head-to-head in our Turbocharger Vs. Supercharger guide, to help you work out the best option for your needs.

We highly recommend checking out our guide before you make this significant decision, but either way, you’ll be unlocking substantial power gains with whichever method suits you best.

If you’re determined enough to make the most of your impressive VQ base, then forced induction is capable of potentially doubling the horsepower figures of your 370Z.

You will also need to consider that this will be putting the engine under twice the strain, so forced induction upgrades must get done professionally, ensuring that you’re using a well-maintained engine to get started.

Although the reliability is likely to be somewhat hindered, the fact that the VQ37VHR is one of the most reliable, bulletproof engines out there will undoubtedly work to your advantage. Just be prepared to have to carry out extensive internal upgrades if you’re planning to go chasing huge figures.

If you opt for a turbo upgrade, make sure you also consider a turbo jacket for the ultimate performance and longevity.

Drifted 370Z Turbo Kit Choice

Fast Intentions 370Z Turbo Kit

fastintentions 370z turbo kit

It’s Fast Intentions that once again took the win in our 370Z Turbo Kit guide.

After producing a completely new design, they push the limits with this Twin Turbo kit.

Not only have they managed to conquer the 1000WHP barrier with their insane Stage 3 kit on the VQ37VHR, but their setups have also won over many owners with their unique and reliable turbo options.

The increasingly popular Stage 1 kit features twin Garrett GT2860RS turbochargers capable of an impressive 700+WHP with additional engine modifications.

If you’re hunting for even more power, then the Stage 2 kit, which is run by Chris Forsberg In Formula Drift, is rated for over 800WHP and Stage 3 at a proven 1,000WHP.

Manufacturer description: “In 2012 when we took on this project, our goals were clear cut. 1) Address and fix the flaws that the current TT systems on the market had. 2) Create the most reliable and efficient TT system. 3) Raise the power and torque threshold of the VQ37VHR engine”.

We are proud to say that we’ve far exceeded our expectations. Throughout the design process of our TT system, we have adapted and utilized 3D C.A.D. software “Solidworks” to create specific oil and cooling components. This entire TT system is manufactured in the U.S.A“.

Drifted 370Z Turbo Kit Alternatives

If you’re looking for a single-turbo setup, then the STS 370Z Turbo Kit is an excellent alternative.

For those of you that are keen to stick with the JDM roots, the GReddy twin-turbo kit will offer the perfect solution.

Drifted 370Z Supercharger Kit Choice

Stillen 370Z Supercharger Kit

stillen 370z supercharger

When it comes to supercharging your 370Z, look no further than the ultimate kit from Stillen.

We’ve taken an in-depth look into their kit in our 370Z Supercharger Guide.

They have a wide range of options, so make sure you check out the perfect product to suit your needs over at Enjuku Racing.

Manufacturer description: “STILLEN is proud to offer the STILLEN supercharger system for the Nissan and Infiniti VQ37 (370Z/G37/Q50.) This supercharger system took over a year to develop and involves some revolutionary designs”.

This supercharger system is developed to offer the customer easy upgradability and installation without requiring a hood replacement to complete the installation! With this supercharger system STILLEN bump the power output to over 500 horsepower! With lots of room to grow!

370Z Wheel Upgrades

We can understand that you want to get your car looking its best right away, and in all fairness, a set of aftermarket wheels will not only improve the looks of your Z, but they’ll also provide weight-saving benefits while also potentially enhance the grip and handling.

Installing gigantic wheels to your Z isn’t going to improve anything, but with a sensible setup, you’ll undoubtedly see benefits.

We bet that you’ll also end up turning around when you walk away from your awesome-looking ride more than ever, too!

Our recommendation when it comes to wheels for the 370Z is to stick with a sensible 18-inch setup with low-profile tires.

We’ve generally found that a width of around 9.5”-10.5” suits the Z best, and you can also go for a staggered fitment, providing a wider wheel/tire combination at the rear to provide additional grip when it comes to putting the power down.

When it comes to wheel offset, you’ll want to aim for the +25 to +15 region, but we highly recommend looking around at the fitment of other Z’s and asking on your local owners’ clubs before making the decision.

For instance, a dedicated track setup is going to differ wildly from those that are planning on driving low and slow to the local meet.

Some of you will also be open to rolling your arches for the ultimate fitment, while others will understandably want to keep the Z as Nissan intended.

We’ve written guides for some of our favorite wheels on the market, which we highly recommend checking out.

volk te37 feature

Volk TE37

The timeless design of the TE37 means that they quite literally suit any car, especially the 370Z.

equip 05 equip

Work Equip

WORK are legends in the wheel game, and although the Equip range typically aims at the old-school market, Equip’s present the perfect opportunity to make your Z stand out from the crowd with the right execution.

work emotion

Work Emotion

WORK’s Emotion range often presents some bargain opportunities, especially with their single-piece options. These are some of the finest, modern opportunities you’ll find for your Z, and we proudly use them on our personal cars.

work meister

Work Meister

The Meister range is quite possibly the most sought-after, with some insanely wide and unique options, which commonly come in three-piece variations. If you’re looking for the ultimate setup for your Z, then these are undoubtedly going to be a real head-turner.

370Z Wing/Spoiler

Unless you’re building a sleeper, you’re likely to want your Z to stand out from the crowd.

If you’re going for a high-speed build or planning to drift competitively on fast tracks, then you may well benefit from a wing, but otherwise, they’re still likely to enhance the looks cosmetically.

There are some crazy spoilers/wings out there on the market, and we’ve put them head-to-head in our 370Z Spoiler Guide.

Drifted 370Z Spoiler Choice

Stillen 370Z Rear Spoiler

stillen rear trunk wing 370z spoiler

Our winner in the guide was the STILLEN Rear Spoiler, which we felt provided something a little different to the other offerings.

This spoiler is an excellent all-rounder for those of you looking for a stylish alternative that suits the body lines of the 370z nicely.

The urethane construction is a welcome bonus, meaning it will undoubtedly take a beating (to some extent) at the track!

Manufacturer description: “STILLEN urethane Aero Parts are designed, prototyped, tested, and built in our facilities in Costa Mesa, California. Care is taken to manage air flow as well as to blend the lines of each part with the vehicle. The effect is a distinctive statement that fits; each part looks like it came from the factorys design studio”.

All of the STILLEN urethane parts are so flexible, durable and impact resistant that STILLEN guarantee our urethane components against breakage or cracking in normal use for as long as you own your vehicle. These urethane products are so tough, STILLEN included a Limited Lifetime Warranty“.

370Z Additional Upgrades

Now that you’ve got your 370Z looking, performing, and handling to the best of its abilities, it’s time to consider the other options that you may have neglected up until now.

Our Double Din Headunit guide will help you find the perfect replacement for the stock stereo. With the 370Z not getting any younger, this is the ideal way to keep up with the latest technology.

If you’re serious about your drifting or racing, then you’ll soon realize that the stock steering wheel isn’t ideal for fast-paced action, so you’ll want to explore the best steering wheels on the market.

Before you start throwing down your Z sideways, a hydraulic handbrake is going to make the art of drifting much more convenient.

Once you’ve got your wheel and hydraulic handbrake sorted, it’s time to get rid of the bulky stock seats for some supportive, lightweight replacements with our Best Racing Seat offerings.

For those of you that are serious about your drifting or racing and are considering competing, you’ll soon need to consider racing gloves, racing shoes, a racing suit, and a racing helmet.

Conclusion

As you can see, there’s an insane amount of potential to be had from the 370Z, and we hope that we’ve helped you with your 370Z upgrade needs in this guide.

With the available products, we do not doubt that you’ll soon be creating the ultimate Fairlady, and we hope that you’ll share the outcome with us once it’s complete!

If our top choices haven’t quite ticked the right boxes for you, then make sure you head to our separate guides for each product, where we put the best considerations head-to-head to help you find the perfect solution.

Fast Intentions 370Z Turbo Kit

fastintentions 370z turbo kit

Our comment: Fast Intentions have come up with a completely new design as they push the limits with their Twin Turbo kit. Not only have they managed to conquer the 1000WHP barrier with their insane Stage 3 kit on the VQ37VHR, but their setups have also won over many owners with their impressive and reliable turbo options.

GReddy 370Z Turbo Kit

greddy 370z turbo kit

  • Manufacturer: GReddy
  • Fitment: Nissan 370Z, Z34
  • Turbo configuration: Twin turbo
  • Value for money: ???
  • Purchase link: Buy GReddy Tuner Kit at AMS

Our comment: Undoubtedly, one of the most well-known names in the Japanese tuning scene. This time Greddy have shown their hand with an impressive kit which is capable of pushing out over 850HP with additional engine modifications.

Featuring twin TD06SH-20G twin turbos, this tuner kit comes with a great package to get you started. This is a great quality kit as we’ve always come to expect from GReddy products and many owners have successfully had impressive power figures and reliability from it.

At the time of review, it unfortunately appears that GReddy has now discontinued their turbo kit, however, it’s still available to purchase from Rev Works. For this reason, we have opted to give it 3* since future customers may struggle to find replacements for specific parts at a later date.

Manufacturer description:Introducing the latest addition to Greddy’s line of Tuner Turbo Kits, the 370Z twin-turbo system boasts an impressive 175 horsepower increase at a mere 6.4psi of boost.”

“Greddy provides the hardware to make the power, but the tuning components are left up to you to give you the best options. With additional engine work and tuning, this tuner kit has the potential of making 850 plus horsepower just as Greddy was able to achieve on their TT 350Z HR.”

AAM 370Z Turbo Kit

aam 370z turbo kit

Our comment: U.S. based AAM introduced their offering in 2014 using new twin-turbos from their partnership with BorgWarner. This quickly became one of the most sought-after offerings and to this day quite possibly the most commonly found kit amongst 370Z owners.

Combining impressive power figures of up to 500HP per turbo and an OEM-style fitment combined with reliability and impressive build quality, it’s easy to see why the kit has maintained its popularity and praise.

Manufacturer description:The AAM Competition Nissan 370Z Twin Turbocharger System is the new standard for what you should expect for a 370 Twin Turbocharger Kit. ”

This is the most powerful, OEM style fitment turbocharger system with innovative technology and long-term reliability available today. These turbocharger systems are capable of producing maximum power and with a built motor can easily achieve results in excess of 700-800+ wheel HORSEPOWER.”

STS 370Z Turbo Kit

sts 370z turbo kit

Our comment: STS are well-known in the tuning scene for their work on muscle cars. This time, they have brought this unique rear-mounted single turbo offering to the 370Z market for those of you who are looking for something a little different.

Some owners have mentioned that the front-mount intercooler is a little on the small side, and if you’re looking for a larger one it comes at an additional price. It appears to be an extremely easy kit to fit, even with basic knowledge. However, after hearing about potential issues with piping such as rust problems with methanol injection. We highly recommend you speak with the manufacturer regarding to see if they can offer a solution before purchasing.

Manufacturer description:At only 5.5psi we are getting over 400 rwhp. That’s 125 more than stock! With methanol injection you can safely make over 500rwhp! We also offer numerous turbo upgrades that will support up to 950chp!”

“The average install time for this kit is between 8 & 12 hours depending on options. The ONLY modifications to the vehicle is drilling a small hole for a clamp and cutting a small ear off the plastic radiator support to allow an intake pipe to be installed. If you can install a cat back exhaust and a cold air intake, then you can install this kit by following the detailed full-color instruction manual.

SFR 370Z Turbo Kit

sfr 370z turbo kit

Our comment: SFR gained a huge following in the 350Z world with their DE offerings, however, they’ve seemingly gained little traction with their 370Z turbo kit. As expected from SFR, it seems to be another fanatastic offering but with little popularity.

If you feel that going with a reputable company with good customer support suits you, we recommend speaking with SFR or TurboKits directly to get more details on this kit.

Manufacturer description:This system fits automatics and manual transmissions. The front aluminum crash bar can be retained.”

“Automatic car is capable of running 450-500WHP on the stock engine. Six Speed car is capable of 550-600WHP on 10psi of boost.

Our winner

Our winner is the Fast Intentions Turbo Kit.

To pick our winner from this choice of 370Z turbo kits we looked at a number of criteria; ease of installation, power levels, upgrade potential and price point.

Based on these criteria we have chosen the Fast Intentions Turbo Kit to be our winner.

Fast Intentions Turbo Kit

fast intentions 370z turbo kit

U.S. based Fast Intentions are known for their impressive workmanship and customer service, particularly amongst 370Z owners.

With a fantastic kit and impressive gains, it’s easy to see why so many Z34 owners have opted for running their turbo kits which have also boasted impressive reliability over time.

We highly recommend that further research is done based on our guide. There are often additional parts, tunes or upgrades for base-level turbo that may be either vital or purely suit your preferences.

Cold air intakes, or CAI’s, as they’re commonly known, are one of the first modifications that any 370z owner should be considering when it comes to extracting the true potential of your VQ37VHR powerplant.

Although the modern-day V6 under the hood is capable of producing respectable power from the factory, a CAI upgrade will allow for far superior airflow to ensure maximum cooling for the engine.

Since cold air intakes are a relatively inexpensive modification, and also reasonably easy to install, it’s easy to see why so many enthusiasts make it one of their first upgrades.

Thankfully, there are several excellent options available for the 370z that have been tried and tested over hundreds of thousands of miles, and we’ve created this guide to help you achieve the best gains for your buck.

Although Nissan has already made a pretty decent effort with locating the 370z intakes, improvements have been made by the various tuning houses across the world, providing the maximum essential gains.

If you’re worried about taking on the task yourself, and wondering what it’s going to entail, then this great video from ‘Danny Z’ shows you how to fit the ‘Drifted Choice’ Stillen Gen 3 to your Z.

Still unsure whether an intake for your 370z is going to be worth the effort? Let ‘Bros FOURR Speed’ help you with your decision.

Now that you’ve decided that you want to get the most out of your Z with a CAI, we’ve also reviewed plenty of other 370z tuning upgrades to help you build the ultimate weapon.

From breathing upgrades such as Test Pipes, Headers and Exhausts, right the way through to Coilovers and Spoilers, our comprehensive guides will point you to the very best products, from budget to premium.

If you’re planning the ultimate build, then Forced Induction is undoubtedly going to be the perfect route, and we’ve reviewed the best Superchargers and Turbo Kits on the market to help you create the ideal package.

For now, let’s take a look at the best cold air intake kits on the market for your Nissan 370z.

To find out more about any of these products, just click on the product name or photo.

Jim Wolf Technology Dual Pop Charger 370z Intake

jim wolf technology 370z intake

Our comment: JWT has released some fantastic products to the Z market, and their Dual Pop Charger Intake System has become a popular choice over the years.

This kit is one of the ‘short ram’ options, which means that it places the intakes a little closer to the engine than we’d like, which means it’s somewhat limiting the true potential of the cold air gains directly from the front of the car.

There are options available to reduce the downside of this, such as heat shields and reflective tape. However, we prefer the long tube options to get the most impressive gains.

Despite that, this kit has gained itself plenty of delighted fans over the years. You can expect some noticeable sound improvements, especially when paired with an exhaust, to allow the engine to scream!

As for performance, there may be a few additional horses to be unleashed, JTW claims 6.5-10hp, but the main gains are going to be in the looks and sound department for this kit.

Manufacturer description:In 2007 Nissan drastically improved the VQ intake system by adding an extra throttle, so the question was, is there any room for improvement? After a full year of testing JWT got the answer, “YES”, but only with the most efficient Pop-Charger Venturi inlets and hood-sealed heat shields.

In addition to a 6.5 to10 WHP improvement, the tone of the engine due to the dual 6” venturis is definitely the most beautiful sound ever heard from a VQ engine!

Takeda Stage-2 PRO DRY S 370z Intake

afe takeda stage 2 pro 370z intake

Our comment: This is undoubtedly up there with the best kits on the market, and features a unique design which utilizes just one large filter instead of the typical dual-design.

Takeda claims that this intake produced 15hp and 16ft/lb gains with 35% increased airflow over the OEM factory intake.

The main reason that many people opt for this kit over the ‘Drifted Choice’ Stillen G3’s is that there is absolutely no cutting involved, even though the cutting is extremely minimal with the Gen 3’s, so they’re well worth looking at.

Many Gen 3 owners claim that the bending in the pipes to avoid the cutting means that the Gen 3 is capable of increased airflow over this option.

Although many internet forum wars have happened over both of these kits, the primary decision you’ll need to make between the two is whether you’re willing to carry out some trimming to your OEM parts in exchange for the ultimate performance.

Manufacturer description:This Takeda performance air intake system uses a unique dual flange filter design engineered to maximize surface area and flow. In recent testing this Takeda “Attack” cold air intake produced 15 horsepower and 16 lbs. x ft. torque, while outflowing the factory intake by 35%.

The placement of the unique single air filter specifically designed to fit flawlessly in the area in front of the radiator guarantees a supply of cool, high pressure fresh air for maximum power gains. The Takeda philosophy of “no cutting or drilling” is maintained with this intake system, as flexible high resistance silicone couplings are used to pass through existing openings in the radiator core support. Whether for street or race, this is the ultimate intake system for the 370Z.

Stillen Gen 2 370z Intake

stillen gen 2 370z intake

Our comment: Stillen provide arguably the best 370z kit on the market with their Gen 3, but unfortunately, their Gen 2 falls a little short of the mark.

With a similar price to the Gen 3, the main appeal of this kit is that it features a ‘short ram’ intake, which means it’s a little more convenient to install.

However, this comes at a cost since you’re not gaining the coolest airflow to the engine that the Gen 3 is capable of providing. If you’re purely after looks and noise, then this may well tick your boxes. For performance and maximum potential gains, we’d go with the Gen 3 all day long.

Although this CARB-legal kit is impeccable quality and would undoubtedly be convnient to fit, we’d rather spend a little more time on the initial fitment and reap the long-term rewards that the Gen 3 offers.

Manufacturer description:STILLEN replaced the restrictive factory air boxes with two (2) dual cone genuine K&N reusable high flow conical air filters. These filters are designed with an integral velocity stack and attach to the newly designed polished aluminum long tubes.

Replacing the factory intake tubes with the STILLEN design adds additional horsepower, and a great look for the engine bay. The filters sit inside custom-fitted urethane intake boxes, which ensure no hot engine compartment air gets sucked into the intake tract. This creates a cold air path, and unlike other manufacturers who only partially shield the filter from hot underhood air, STILLEN has fully enclosed the filters and draws on cold air from behind the grille, for optimum performance.

Stillen Gen 3 Ultra Long Tube 370z Intake

stillen gen 3 370z intake

Our comment: You’ve heard us speaking about Stillen’s Gen 3 kit throughout the guide so far, and quite rightly so, as this is arguably the most exceptional choice available for your 370z.

Yes, it requires minimal trimming to ensure the perfect fit, and if that’s not something that you’re willing to do, then an option like the Takeda above is likely to be perfect for you.

Stillen claims 17.5hp gains from this CARB-legal kit on the 370z, which is the highest ‘proven’ (dyno) gains out there.

Thousands of delighted owners have verified that this is the best choice on the market right now, and it also looks fantastic when installed, combined with the typical quality we’ve come to expect from the industry-leaders over the years.

Having tested more than 50 different variations before coming up with their final design, this shows the attention-to-detail that goes into providing such an impressive product for the market.

In our opinion, this is the ultimate product for performance improvement, and we do not doubt that it’ll leave you grinning from ear-to-ear.

We’ve linked the usual kit in this guide, which needs (very) occasional oiling but provides the best filtration. If you’re looking for a more convenient dry-filter setup, then you can purchase that here.

Manufacturer description:STILLEN’s continuing dedication to getting the maximum performance from each vehicle has lead to the introduction of the new Generation 3 Ultra Long Tube Intake. This intake has a radically new design that provides dramatically better power than any intake on the market for the VQ37 equipped vehicles. STILLEN’s R&D team went engineered and dyno tested more than 50 variations before being satisfied that this system is the best that can be made for the VQ37 engines.

All kits feature a system of varied diameter tubing and steps to maximize air velocity.

HKS Racing Suction 370z Intake

hks racing suction 370z intake

Our comment: For those of you that love your premium JDM goodies, HKS offers their Racing Suction Kit to the premium end of the market.

This kit does come with a fairly substantial price tag, and due to the location of the filters, you’re unlikely to experience the same gains as you would from the Gen 3 kit above.

If you’re looking to show off your parts under the hood, then this is one of the better options out there.

Other benefits from this HKS kit is that it looks fantastic, requires no trimming, and is convenient to install.

It’ll certainly earn you some JDM scene points, but we’d personally be looking to add some heat shields to this setup to avoid sucking in the warmer temperatures.

Overall, a brilliant alternative option for the market, but we feel that more can be had for your buck with Stillen’s Gen 3.

Manufacturer description:Opt for the high-end intake kit from HKS : the Racing Suction. It replaces the stock intake hoses and air filter for maximum filtration without compromise, removing the original air filter box. Installation is simple as it is “plug & play/bolt on”, without any modification necessary.

Each kit comes with a high performance “mushroom” filter (up to 30% increase in air flow), hoses and aluminium brackets specially adapted for your vehicle, and all necessary accessories for installation (joiners, clips, bolts, etc.). The rigid aluminium hoses are designed to offer minimal pressure loss and help your boost pressure increase quicker. Indeed, the stock rubber hoses often contract with the vacuum created by the compressor, severely reducing performance.

HKS Super Hybrid 370z Intake

hks drop in panel filter 370z intake

Our comment: We mentioned previously that although the factory intake on the 370z can be improved, it’s far superior to some of the alternative OEM options from other manufacturers.

For those of you that prefer to stick with the OEM route but are looking to achieve the best possible performance from your stock intake, HKS offers these simple panel filter upgrades for your stock airboxes.

Although you’re not going to see any significant gains, these HKS filters have often come out best when it comes to providing improved airflow against their rivals.

A quick, simple, convenient, and cheap alternative to a full intake system, but the downside is that you won’t experience the potential gains to be had either. If you’re looking to replace your tired OEM filters, then these will certainly be an improvement.

Manufacturer description:3 layered filter divides, collects intake air and smooths air flow. It enables quick response that is required for sport filter. Newly developed Non-woven fabric is the first layer that collects large dust. Second layer polyurethane filter collects small dust. Thus the new filter has longer life.

Joining of each layer was changed from flame lamination to net type joining that does not affect intake air flow. Dry 3 layer structure enables lower resistance. With high strength double frame, strong frame can be used for high horsepower.

Takeda PDS Stage-2 Polished Short Ram Air 370z Intake

takeda pds stage 2 370z intake

Our comment: Having previously reviewed the hugely popular Takeda intake above, they also offer this short ram intake for those of you that are looking for looks and convenience over performance.

Similarly to the previous short ram intakes we’ve reviewed, these are once again not going to be capable of providing the same cool air as the long tube options on the market.

However, if a short ram ticks the right boxes for you, then this kit would undoubtedly look good under the hood, and Takeda are known for their excellent quality. In that case, it could be a perfect choice!

Manufacturer description:The Takeda Retain Intake is a short ram air intake intake system. In recent testing this intake produced 9hp and 8lbs. x ft. of torque. Takeda intakes are constructed out of lightweight clear-coat anodized tubing for maximum air flow and a great style.

Each intake uses a large 360 degree high flow PRO Dry S air filter for maximum flow, filtration and convenience. The PRO Dry S air filter requires no oils and cleans with simple soap and water. Takeda intakes come complete with all tubing, filters, couplers and hardware for an easy installation. Complete installation in 40 minutes or less.

Flowmaster Performance 370z Intake – Delta Force

flowmaster performance 370z intake

Our comment: Flowmaster has put an extensive amount of research into providing one of the best, and most popular short ram options on the market.

With substantial heat shields, this means that you get the convenience of a short ram kit with the maximum potential cooling available.

If you’ve made it this far in our guide, you’ll know that we’re relatively biased towards long-tube CAI’s for their performance gains, but as far as short ram kits go, this is one of the best on the market.

Manufacturer description:Take the performance of your vehicle to the next level with the addition of Flowmaster’s new Delta Force Performance Air Intake system for 2009-19 Nissan 370Z & 2008-13 Infiniti G37 with a 3.7L V6 engine. The Delta Force system contains an ultra-trick looking, custom molded black Cross-Linked Polyethylene (XLPE) high-flow intake tube, black anodized aluminum fittings (when applicable), high quality reinforced silicone couplers and all stainless steel hardware.

Other features include a large diameter high-flow conical shaped 8 layer cotton gauze air filter, which traps more dirt than typical 6 layer designs, a custom-fit black powder-coated air dam with attachment brackets to securely mount the system in place along with soft bumpers to eliminate any metal to metal contact under the hood. The Delta Force Air Filters are serviceable with our new Delta Force cleaning kits which will help outlast your vehicle. Delta Force Performance Air Intakes are NOT currently legal for use or for sale in the State of California.

AEM Induction 370z Cold Air Intake

aem induction 370z intake

Our comment: AEM offers something a little different with their kit, which sits somewhere in the middle between short ram and long tube, which they claim is capable of providing up to 15hp gains.

This fantastic looking kit is one of the most popular options on the market, mostly for owners that don’t want the inconvenience of trimming or having to remove the bumper for filter maintenance.

One of the best features of this setup is that it utilizes AEM’s Dryflow filters, which can be used up to 100,000 miles without requiring any servicing.

This is a great alternative worth considering for owners that are looking for convenient installation, significant performance gains and great looks combined with low maintenance.

Manufacturer description:The 21-821DS Performance Cold Air Intake System produces horsepower and torque gains by replacing the restrictive air filter and air intake housing. This air intake system was designed, tuned and dyno-tested to fit specific Nissan 370Z models. This system replaces both the left and right side intakes.

The AEM Dryflow synthetic washable air filter does not require oiling and can be used up to 100,000 miles before servicing is needed (depending on driving conditions). The heatshield is a two piece design and also utilizes the factory air ducting. The intake tube is constructed from mandrel bent aluminum and has a durable gray powder coat finish. This air intake system was developed to accommodate the mass air flow sensor and PCV hose.

Injen SP 370z Cold Air Intake (Non-NISMO)

injen sp 370z intake

Our comment: Injen’s SP kit typically gets mentioned within the Top 3 CAI’s for the 370z, alongside Stillen’s Gen 3 and the Takeda Stage 2 kits.

Like the Takeda kit, this one doesn’t require any trimming, but if you have a NISMO Z, then you’ll want to check out the option below.

Another beneficial aspect with this kit is that the filters can be removed for servicing without the need to remove the front bumper, unlike Stillen’s Gen 3.

If you’re not keen on working on your car, or the inconvenience of removing your bumper once a year, then this could make the Injen a tempting prospect.

Another fantastic option, which quotes 15hp performance gains and is capable of giving the ‘Drifted Choice’ Stillen Gen 3 a run for its money!

If you’re finding the chrome finish a little “blingy”, then make sure you check out the black alternative.

Manufacturer description:Is your engine choking for air and in need of some additional horsepower? If so, Injen has exciting news for you! The SP series of cold air intakes from Injen Technology will allow your engine to breathe deeper and enhance the performance that you’ve been craving. The SP series of cold air intakes is Injen’s flagship system in their lines of traditional aluminum cold air intake systems.

Injen Technology is the world’s first tuned air intake system and holds four patents on the tuning process of an intake system – something no other manufacturer can claim. The SP series of cold air intakes feature many of Injen Technology’s patented tuning process, including MegaRam (MR) Technology, Air Fusion, and many other innovations that keep Injen Technology at the forefront in the performance aftermarket.

Injen SP 370z Cold Air Intake System (NISMO)

injen sp nismo 370z intake

Our comment: Injen has gone out of the way to create this CAI kit specifically for those of you that are lucky enough to own a NISMO 370z!

If you were to use a non-NISMO Injen CAI, then you’re going to run into issues with the windscreen washer jet bottle. Injen has eliminated this by redesigning the shape and providing you with an alternative that is provided within the kit.

As we stated above, this is a fantastic kit and has been proven to provide gains of up to 13hp and 19lb/ft torque on the NISMO models.

Seibon NSM Style

seibon nsm carbon fiber 370z spoiler

Our comment: Seibon is one of the most well-known companies on the market when it comes to providing some of the best, reasonably priced aftermarket carbon fiber parts, and they’ve taken a particular liking to the Fairlady series by providing a huge range of products.

This spoiler is based on the OEM spoiler, which was included from the factory on NISMO models. If you love the NISMO design, yet you can’t resist stunning carbon fiber weave, this is the perfect choice for you!

Even if you’re not a big fan of carbon-fiber, you could always paint this to match your color scheme and enjoy the weight-saving benefits!

Manufacturer description:Seibon Carbon components are carefully hand-crafted using only the finest materials. Our production team offers superior craftsmanship with over 15 years of experience working with carbon fiber.

Every component is constructed with a consistent weave pattern. Our production processes allow exceptional carbon/resin ratio, creating high product stiffness that also leads to extra strength. For a stunning finish, our products are coated with a glossy clear coat that does not chip or flake. We meticulously inspect all of our components and stand firmly behind our products so that you can enjoy peace of mind with every genuine Seibon Carbon product.

ICBEAMER Batman Wing

Our comment: They say that money can’t buy you taste, but it can buy you carbon fiber Batman spoilers! As the Drifted team were discussing their favorite 370z spoilers, this caught our eye, and we couldn’t resist including it!

Don’t worry, we haven’t completely lost our minds, (hopefully!) This is certainly a *ahem* unique proposition for those of you that are going for a Batmobile-themed 370z!

Now, let’s get back to our more enticing offerings…

Amuse Vestito

amuse carbon mix 370z spoiler

Our comment: Japanese tuning legends Amuse enters our list with this awesome-looking spoiler which incorporates a carbon fiber middle-section within an FRP design.

If you love the look of this, but it sits a little too far out of your price range, you can also check out their FRP alternative.

This is one of the most impressive choices on the market, and if you’re looking for fantastic quality and the unique touch to finish off your 370z, this could well be the perfect solution.

Manufacturer description:The Amuse Carbon Mix 370 Vestito Aero Spoiler. This stylish spoiler transforms the 370Z with aggressive lines that flow with the original lines of the 370Z. This wing contains a mixture of Carbon and FRP to keep it strong but still lightweight.

Seibon NS Style

seibon ns carbon fiber 370z spoiler

Our comment: The NS style spoiler is the second Seibon offering on our list. This is once again another excellent, reasonably-priced carbon fiber option.

This spoiler is a replica of the late track-inspired OEM NISMO rear decklid spoiler. Not only is it cheaper, and lighter than the OEM equivalent, it also allows you to show off the stunning carbon fiber weave!

Another fantastic-looking carbon fiber product from Seibon!

Manufacturer description:Seibon Carbon components are carefully hand-crafted using only the finest materials. Our production team offers superior craftsmanship with over 15 years of experience working with carbon fiber.

Varis VSDC GT Wing – Hyper Narrow

varis vsdc 370z spoiler

Our comment: Japanese legends Varis enters our list with their first offering, which is certainly like nothing else on the market.

Featuring a carbon fiber base, this 1360mm wide VSDC spoiler will undoubtedly stand out from the crowd.

If you’re not too bothered about the carbon base, or if you’re looking to have it match your paint scheme, you can always save a few bucks by opting for their FRP alternative.

This is an excellent choice if you’re looking for more aggressive styling, and keen to stand out from the crowd.

Manufacturer description:Improve the look and performance of your car from ordinary to extra-ordinary with Varis’ GT Wing Hyper Narrow 1360 & Wing Base in VSDC and Carbon.

Varis, a Japanese company located in Japan had been providing high quality, custom Aero parts allover the world. Their products had been desired and enjoyed by car enthusiasts for more than a decade.

Seibon NN Style

seibon nn carbon fiber 370z spoiler

Our comment: We weren’t lying when we said that Seibon are keen to make carbon fiber products for the Fairlady market!

Their NN spoiler is similar to our first reviewed product, the NSM, except the NSM is a little bulkier and goes around the third brake light, where this spoiler sits above it.

The tips of the spoiler sit flush with the body, creating a unique ‘wrap-around’ effect.

This NN style spoiler is fairly aggressive, yet also quite subtle at the same time. If you’re looking for a fairly big spoiler that’s not too ‘in your face’, then this could be an ideal option.

Central 20 Z-Sports

central 20 z sports 370z spoiler

Our comment: We absolutely love this completely unique spoiler from JDM Fairlady Z specialists, Central 20.

If you’re after a subtle, ducktail-type spoiler, this provides fantastic styling which compliments the lines of the 370z and would work perfectly with a subtle bodykit.

Although some of the choices in our guide are extremely common, you’re certainly not going to see the Z-Sports spoiler everywhere you go.

An excellent, stylish choice shipped to you directly from Japan.

Manufacturer description:Central 20 is the lifework of director/president Haruhiyo Yanagida, also known as ‘Z of Yanagida or Z-Master’. After having great success as a driver in the late 60’s and early 70’s Central 20 was established in 1975 focusing specifically on the Fairlady Z.

Seibon SR Style

seibon sr carbon 370z spoiler

Our comment: Our next carbon fiber offering from Seibon is once again based on Nissan’s NISMO range.

Based on the Nissan optional extra catalog, this rear decklid spoiler is another option for those of you hunting down a subtle finishing touch to the rear of your Z.

Reasonably priced, and with the typical fantastic quality we’ve come to expect from Seibon over the years, you can’t go wrong with this choice.

If you like this style, but you’re not too bothered by carbon fiber, planning to paint it, or just looking to save a few bucks, we also recommend checking out our next choice.

Street Faction Wing (Chassis-Mounted)

street faction 370z spoiler

Our comment: Whether you’re building a Time Attack weapon, or just keen to whack photographers around the head while you innocently run the wall, this Street Faction wing certainly isn’t for those of you that are going down the subtle route with your build!

If you’re looking to build the most aggressive 370z imaginable, you’re going to struggle to find an off-the-shelf wing that looks more insane than this!

This is fully adjustable, allowing you to adjust the ‘angle of attack’ (making it more likely to get the stray photographers) and also height-adjustable.

This comes as a complete unit, including the rear bash bar and a 69″ (we doubt that’s a coincidence) wide carbon-fiber wing deck, and as you probably guessed, it would certainly transform the look of your Z!

It may look heavy, but Street Faction has used the lightest possible materials to keep the weight to a minimum. The only downside is that you may have to wait up to 3 months for delivery.

Manufacturer description:Just bolt our bash bar onto the OEM locations & you’re good to go! No need to cut, drill, or weld anything onto the car!

Yes, you can still access the trunk by removing the bottom most bolts & swinging the entire wing assembly back until it stops on the bash bar. You can still run a rear bumper while retaining the functionality of the pivot feature, but you’d have to cut out two slots for the bumper to slide over the brackets.

Vicrez RB Style

vicrez ducktail rb style 370z spoiler

Our comment: Vicrez is known for providing highly durable and quality products to the market.

This Rocket Bunny-style spoiler is made of polyurethane which is ‘practically unbreakable’ and could be ideal for those of you that will be drifting and often brave enough to run the wall with your Z!

Manufacturer description:Vicrez is a world renowned automotive parts brand featuring the hottest parts in the market and specialized in giving you the highest end parts for the lowest prices around.

We carry the best styling parts such as OEM hoods & custom hoods side skirts wing spoilers bumpers side fenders and Lip Under Spoiler Air Dams you name it we have it. Vicrez is high quality brand at the price you can afford. Vicrez’s products are of such high quality; we personally make sure each product is precision injected molded at our facility to ensure proper fitment ease of installation and durability.

Fujimura Auto Rocket Dancer

fujimura carbon fiber 370z spoiler

Our comment: If you liked the style of the Vicrez spoiler above, this carbon fiber option from Fujimura is a little more subtle, and still retains the third brake light.

This looks fantastic in either carbon fiber or when painted and gives a tasteful finishing touch to the Z’s contours.

Fujimura Auto is known for their high-quality attention to detail, and this spoiler is certainly no exception.

Manufacturer description:The Fujimura Auto Rocket Dancer Aero Carbon Fiber Rear Spoiler is specifically designed for the Nissan 370Z by Fujimura, and is a very tasteful aero piece that brings the best out of the vehicles appearance while retaining its standard lines.

Zele Performance

zele performance 370z spoiler

Our comment: Yet another JDM brand enters our list, this time it’s Nissan specialists Zele Performance with another subtle carbon fiber rear spoiler, which is extremely similar to the Fujimura Auto choice above.

Zele Performance has ensured that this stylish yet subtle addition is of the highest quality, and would be the perfect addition to a subtle rear end.

Manufacturer description:ZELE Performance is located in the port city of Yokohama. These craftsman put together great quality and design for original aero parts specializing in GT-R’s, Fairlady Z’s and the 86/BR-Z.

Remix Custom

Our comment: We’ve reviewed a lot of boot spoilers now, so we wanted to add this Remix Custom roof spoiler into the mix for those of you that are looking for that extra touch.

This sits above the rear windscreen and although incredibly subtle, it actually becomes quite noticeable, especially when used alongside a rear spoiler.

There’s no doubt that this is an incredible price, but we do expect that it’ll need some minor amendments to be carried out at the body shop to ensure the perfect fit. However, since it’s fiberglass this is easily done and you really can’t go wrong for the money!

IKON MOTORSPORTS

Our comment: This spoiler is a replica of the spoilers which were included on the 09+ models of the NISMO 370z.

Although it’s similar to some of the spoilers we reviewed earlier in our guide, this one features a center-pillar.

A perfected design by Nissan, which you really can’t go wrong with, and a great price from IKON MOTORSPORTS to match. One of the benefits of buying from IKON is that they are happy to provide it pre-painted in the OEM Nissan colors.

Manufacturer description:At Ikonmotorsports we strive to win your satisfaction, by offering various autopart goods, services, and replacements. Our R&D department strives to fabricate new products and designs by working directly with our manufacturers.

ings LX-Sport

ings sport 370z spoiler

Our comment: If you’re after subtle, then it doesn’t get much more subtle than this tiny rear spoiler from JDM tuning legends, ‘ings’.

Although we very much doubt you’re going to see any major benefits aerodynamically, this could be perfect if you just want a small finishing touch to that blank canvas on the rear of your Z.

Manufacturer description:Rear trunk spoilers are a very subtle modification that can greatly improve the appearance of a vehicle without going over the top. INGS rear trunk spoilers give your vehicle a unique profile from the rear and looks great when used with other INGS parts.

Varis Lip Spoiler

varis rear trunk 370z spoiler

Our comment: Varis returns to our list with this stunning carbon fiber rear lip spoiler. It’s certainly more prominent than the ings choice above, but extremely stylish and subtle.

One of the highest-regarded brands in Japan when it comes to carbon fiber products, and you can count on this being exceptional quality.

If you’re tempted by this but would prefer to save some bucks for other upgrades, then you can opt for their FRP alternative with substantial savings.

Manufacturer description:Varis, a Japanese company located in Japan had been providing high quality, custom Aero parts allover the world. Their products had been desired and enjoyed by car enthusiasts for more than a decade.

STILLEN Rear Spoiler

stillen trunk 370z spoiler

Our comment: Z-car legends STILLEN certainly need no introduction as they bring this fantastic looking urethane spoiler to our list.

Well known for their 370z supercharger kits, they’ve also released several flexible and durable aero products onto the market.

This looks completely unique compared to anything else in our list, and also comes at a fantastic price.

An excellent all-rounder for those of you looking for a stylish alternative that suits the body lines of the 370z nicely. Urethane is an excellent bonus and will undoubtedly take a beating at the track!

Manufacturer description:STILLEN urethane Aero Parts are designed, prototyped, tested, and built in our facilities in Costa Mesa, California. Care is taken to manage air flow as well as to blend the lines of each part with the vehicle. The effect is a distinctive statement that fits; each part looks like it came from the factorys design studio.

All of the STILLEN urethane parts are so flexible, durable and impact resistant that STILLEN guarantee our urethane components against breakage or cracking in normal use for as long as you own your vehicle. These urethane products are so tough, STILLEN included a Limited Lifetime Warranty.

STILLEN Roof Wing

stillen 370z spoiler

Our comment: If you liked their trunk spoiler, then their urethane roof wing is going to be the perfect complement to complete your rear end!

Exceptional quality and a fantastic price once again from STILLEN. In our minds, this is the ultimate roof spoiler for the 370z and with a lifetime warranty to match!

APR Performance GTC-300 World Challenge Spec Adjustable Wing

apr performance gtc 300 370z spoiler

Our comment: If you’re looking to build a track weapon, this APR Performance wing could be the perfect choice for your needs.

It’s certainly not the most subtle choice in our list, but this adjustable wing is built for purpose and is made of carbon fiber-reinforced polymer (CFRP) to keep the weight down.

The airfoil (center panel) contains pre-pregnated woven carbon fiber sheets to provide superior strength as well as keeping weight to a minimum.

Spanning 67″ and 13″ high with 10mm aircraft-grade 6061 billet aluminium pedestals, this is an excellent alternative to the Street Faction wing with a much shorter wait time if you’re keen to get shaving those valuable seconds off your lap times at the track.

Manufacturer description:Each GTC Series airfoil is composed of lightweight and durable carbon fiber-reinforced polymer (CFRP) composite materials.

All CFRP airfoils are made using pre-pregnated composite manufacturing processes (i.e. high-temperature autoclave and vacuum bagging) in high-quality aluminum billet molds.

Our winner

Our winner for this guide is the STILLEN Rear Spoiler.

To pick our winner from this choice of a huge selection of 370z spoilers, we looked at a number of criteria; price, quality, popularity, and design.

Based on these criteria we have chosen the STILLEN Rear Spoiler to be our winner.

STILLEN Rear Spoiler

stillen rear 370z spoiler

We appreciate that this does come down to personal taste, but we really like the design of the STILLEN spoiler, and urethane is exceptionally useful when it comes to aero parts, especially if you’ll be using them in anger at the track!

Not only that, but STILLEN has also managed to make their spoiler one of the most reasonably-priced products on the market, and it even has a matching roof spoiler at an equally impressive price!

Admittedly, there’s a huge variety to choose from, and with several bargains and some stunning carbon fiber choices, this one is really going to mostly be down to your own personal preference!

For those of you that are looking for a budget spoiler, it’s well worth taking a look at the Elite Spoilers OEM Style which offers incredible value for money.

If you’re looking for the ultimate spoiler, the Amuse Vestito Carbon Mix spoiler is absolutely stunning, but there are several amazing options available at both ends of the price range, whatever your needs!

Thank you for reading our Nissan 370z spoiler guide

We hope that you’re now confident in choosing the right product for your needs, whether it’s cruising on the street or tearing it up at the track!

Want to get the most out of your 370Z exhaust setup? Test pipes provide the ultimate power gains for a minimal price. We bring you the best options on the market in our 370Z Test Pipes guide.

nissan 370z test pipes

We’ve covered a huge amount of aftermarket upgrade choices for 370Z owners in our previous guides, so whether you’re looking for an intake, exhaust, coilovers, headers or going to new extremes with a supercharger or turbo kit, we’ve got you covered!

This time, we’ve listened to your requests to get the best potential out of your 370Z exhaust system, and many of you have been considering going down the test pipes route to get the air flowing in the most efficient way possible.

Test pipes are an extremely simple and cheap bolt-on modification that can potentially offer around 10hp gains, there’s certainly not many mods on the market that can make these kind of gains for a couple of hundred bucks!

Sounds too good to be true, right? Well, there are unfortunately a few drawbacks to running test pipes, but if power gains are your main concern then nothing else is going to match them.

If you’ve looked at test pipes already, you would’ve seen that they state they’re made for ‘off-road use only’. The reason for this is that most pipes are essentially a pipe which bypasses the catalytic converter. Perfect for performance gains but not so perfect when it comes to passing emissions testing.

Other disadvantages are that it may well bring up your CEL (engine warning light), but there are plenty of simple guides online on how to get around this. You’re also going to have to prepare yourself for some SERIOUSLY loud noises, but that’s not always a bad thing!

For some of you, these niggles won’t be an issue and you’re purely looking for making the most of your 370Z, so we’ve created this guide to help you.

So if you can deal with these minor drawbacks and you’re ready to release those extra ponies from under the hood, check out our selection. We’ve done extensive research and narrowed down some of the best choices available on the 370Z market.

Resonated test pipes provide sound-deadening with barely any changes in performance, so unless you want to set off alarms when you go for a casual drive, these are going to be the better option for you.

For those that need to pass emissions testing, high-flow cats are going to be the best route for you to go down. With that being said, high-flow cats also have their own disadvantages, combined with high-costs and test pipes are far less likely to go wrong due to their simplicity.

We’ve written this guide to explain the differences and help you decide which test pipes are best for your needs.

Check out this video from Lukas Lenner on YouTube as he fits the Motordyne ART Pipes to his 370Z with great before and after comparison footage.

Let’s take a look at our 370Z test pipe selection

To read more about any of these products just click on the turbo kit name or photo.

Motordyne 370Z Advanced Resonance Tuning (ART) Test Pipes

motordyne 370z test pipes

Our comment: We go straight into our list with the most expensive option, but arguably the best. Where most test pipes are a simple connecting pipe, Motordyne have gone out of their way and done countless hours of research to bring this unique product to the market with separate resonance chambers.

These are well-known for being quieter as well as removing some of the less-desireable sounds that can often come with test pipes such as excessive rasp and drone to bring you the ultimate combination of performance and harmonics in a great-looking package.

Sure, they’re the most expensive, but these are the perfect solution for those of you that want the ultimate product for your Z. Unsurprisingly, these are the most popular choice among owners.

Manufacturer description:Through countless hours of research and development a new path has been explored in the never-ending quest for performance. A method of directly altering exhaust harmonics for enhanced performance and sound, Advanced Resonance Tuning (ART).

“ART pipes for increased power and torque without the drastic increase in loudness normally associated with test pipes. ART pipes provide the quietest, smoothest, deepest sound of any test pipe while greatly reducing or eliminating rasp and drone. The difference in sound is not subtle. They’re not conventional test pipes. They’re ART pipes!

Berk 370Z Non-Resonated Test Pipes

berk 370z test pipes

  • Manufacturer: Berk
  • Fitment: Nissan 370Z (Z34)
  • Value for money: ?????

Our comment: They’re one of the cheapest offerings on our list but there’s been no compromise on quality here, which is why the Berk test pipes are the most popular non-resonated cats available. Sure, they’re going to be loud as they’re a straight-through pipe, but they’re extremely well made and sound awesome.

Many owners have reported a much louder, deeper sound from the exhaust but with very little drone considering that it’s a straight-through. For those of you that don’t have emissions or sound concerns, these are the perfect value-for-money choice.

Manufacturer description:Our highly anticipated 2007-up test pipes are now available! Features fully gusseted and plated support brackets, the strongest in the industry.

“Includes the same leak free soft crush graphite collector gaskets found in our 07- up HFC’s and secondary O2 sensor bungs for wideband tuning or AF monitoring.

Fast Intentions (F.I.) Resonated 370Z Test Pipes

fi 370z test pipes

Our comment: Another extremely popular choice once again comes from Fast Intentions as they bring another fantastic product to the market. You always can count on incredible quality and customer support from these guys.

These resonated pipes are another strong contender for the win here, and for many owners they are the best test pipes out there. If you’re determined to go with F.I. but looking for non-resonated test pipes, you can find them here.

Manufacturer description:These resonated test pipes are the premier upgrade for all 370Z owners looking to maximize performance from their VQ37VHR V6 engine. Our resonated test pipes effectively increase low-end torque and maximize power throughout the entire RPM band.Your overall exhaust volume will increase.

Built as a direct OEM replacement, resonated test pipes are designed to be an addition to your cat back exhaust system. We maximize performance by eliminating your OEM catalytic converters, increasing the tubing diameter, and adding straight-through perforated core resonators to free up back pressure. This addition is ideal for force inducted applications because of its straight through design, eliminating virtually all restriction.

ISR Performance Resonated 370Z Test Pipes

isr 370z test pipes

  • Manufacturer: ISR Performance
  • Fitment: Nissan 370Z (Z34)
  • Value for money: ????

Our comment: These resonated pipes from ISR Performance are the cheapest option on our list, but still offer decent quality and fitment. For a cheap resonated setup, you can’t really go wrong with these.

They also have a non-resonated option at just $169.00, however we would prefer to stump up a little extra cash for the more popular Berk option.

Manufacturer description:The ISR Performance resonated test pipes are constructed using high-quality stainless steel. These resonated test pipes utilize stock flange locations so they can be used with stock components or aftermarket (Provided they aftermarket components use stock style flanges and mounting locations.)

These test pipes will eliminate your catalytic converter, and are designed for off-road use only. Utilizing a small resonator, the ISR Performance resonated test pipes will help cut some of the rasp of the exhaust note of your modified VQ while still providing much better exhaust gas flow than the OEM catalytic converter. These will help add the maximum amount of horsepower and torque to your VQ, especially when paired with the ISR Y-pipe and exhaust!

Invidia Non-Resonated 370Z Test Pipes

invidia 370z test pipes

  • Manufacturer: Invidia
  • Fitment: Nissan 370Z (Z34)
  • Value for money: ????

Our comment: Invidia are always a solid choice when it comes to exhaust parts and their test pipes are no exception.

Owners have generally found this setup to provide more rasp and drone than the Berk alternative which is at a similar price-point, but we have no doubt you’ll be satisfied if you’re looking to pair these with your current exhaust setup.

Manufacturer description:Installing the Invidia Test-Pipe is a great way to free up horsepower and increase the sound of your exhaust. By removing the stock catalytic converter you are allowing a greater volume of exhaust gases to pass through the exhaust system, thereby giving you better throttle response, increased power, and better gas mileage.

Motiv Concepts Non-Resonated 370Z Test Pipes

motiv 370z test pipes

  • Manufacturer: Motiv Concepts
  • Fitment: Nissan 370Z (Z34)
  • Value for money: ????

Our comment: They may not be one of the most well-known brands on the market and certainly not one of the most popular choices, but we’ve heard many positive things about these great-looking Motiv Concepts test pipes.

They’re certainly not new to the game, bringing over 20-years experience in building high-quality show and race cars. If you decide to go with these as something a little different, we’d love to hear your thoughts.

Manufacturer description:There’s no better way to maximize the performance of your vehicle than with a set of high-performance test pipes. Get rid of the restrictive stock catalytic converters and let your engine breathe the way it was meant to be. Motiv Concepts test pipes for the Nissan 370Z does just that. Featuring our signature beautiful brushed finish on 2.5-inch of U.S. made RathGibson tube. Complete bolt-on with all-new hardware, ready to go.

AAM Competition Non-Resonated 370Z Test Pipes

aam 370z test pipes

  • Manufacturer: AAM Competition
  • Fitment: Nissan 370Z (Z34)
  • Value for money: ????

Our comment: Many owners are happily running the AAM Competition test pipes. These are well-known for being particularly raspy, but if that’s not a concern for you then they’re a great choice.

For us, we would personally struggle to deal with so much rasp on a daily basis as we know how frustrating it can get when trying to drive around normally on a daily driver.

Manufacturer description:For enthusiasts looking for the highest possible exhaust flow from their vehicles, removing factory catalytic converters in favor of 2.5″ diameter race or “test” pipes is the most efficient upgrade available.

The AAM Competition 2.5′ Test Pipes replace the factory Nissan 370Z High Flow Cats and are designed purely for off-road performance. Each unit is hand assembled at AAM Competition’s manufacturing facility in the U.S.A., using raw 304-grade stainless steel components. Exhaust flows freely from the engine without the restriction of catalytic converters, and peak engine power and torque are greatly increased.

Our winner

Our winner is the Motordyne ART Test Pipes.

To pick our winner from this choice of 370Z test pipes we looked at a number of criteria; performance, quality, sound, popularity and design.

Based on these criteria we have chosen the Motordyne ART Test Pipes to be our winner.

Motordyne Advanced Resonance Tuning Pipes

motordyne 370z test pipes

There’s no question that test pipes are a simple product to provide the maximum possible exhaust flow to give the ultimate performance. However, Motordyne have gone above and beyond with their ART pipes to tick all the right boxes to make the perfect all-around solution.

We can’t question that these come at a price though, so if it’s a little more than you’d like to spend, we would definitely recommend the Berk non-resonated and Fast Intentions resonated. If you’re on a tight budget, the ISR pipes are a bargain.

Thank you for reading our Nissan 370Z Test Pipes guide

We hope that you’re now confident in choosing the right product for your needs to give your Nissan the much-needed power upgrade it should’ve left the factory with!

In this guide, we’ll show you some of the best Nissan 370Z headers on the market. This is the ultimate 370Z header guide.

When you first picked up your Z34, you were probably pretty happy with the performance. However, as time goes on you’ll no doubt get the urge to release the 3.7 liter V6 VQ37VHR’s maximum potential.

Why do I need aftermarket headers?

Once you’ve completed the simple bolt-on mods such as an intake and cat-back exhaust, there are even more precious horses desperate to be unleashed from higher flowing headers than Nissan provided from the factory.

When switching to aftermarket headers, the enlarged diameter piping and smoother bends allow for exhaust gasses to exit the engine far more efficiently. This increase in flow provides improved performance. VQ37 headers are an important addition to getting the most from your naturally aspirated build. If you’re considering going down the supercharged or NOS route, headers will offer substantial improvements.

You’ll need to consider that going for long tube headers will remove your cats, which means your car won’t pass emissions testing in certain states. If this is likely to be an issue, take a look at the short headers in our guide.

Can I fit them myself?

Fitting headers to VQ37’s is known for being notoriously frustrating to fit. If you’re inexperienced with basic tools and planning to do this on axle stands, you may want to reconsider. On average, we expect this job to take an experienced mechanic with the right equipment around 6 hours. If you’re experienced and capable, still expect many enjoyable hours of cussing and torn knuckles. It’ll no doubt be worth it in the end!

Lukas Lenner has this great guide on removing your stock headers, so make sure you check this out before you get your hands filthy.

Since it’s such a big job, we recommend either ceramic coating or heat wrapping your headers before you fit them. Lukas Lenner once again comes to the rescue with another great guide on how to wrap your headers here:

Enough talking, show me the headers!

In this guide, we’ll cover the budget end of the market right the way through to the top end, we hope to be able to find an ideal product for all Z34 owners.

Fast Intentions Long Tube 370Z Headers

fast intentions 370z headers

Our comment: Fast Intentions are well known for releasing some of the best products on the market, and their 370Z long tube headers are certainly no exception. Providing exceptional quality alongside some of the largest performance gains.

These were the first headers released for the 370Z and they are still quite possibly the most popular choice out there with many delighted long-term owners.

Manufacturer description:This is the worlds first “production” long tube header for the Nissan 370Z. The premier upgrade for all 370Z owners looking maximize the performance output of their VQ37VHR naturally aspirated or supercharged engine. With the addition of these headers all restriction created by the OEM exhaust manifolds and catalytic converters will be eliminated.

Built as a direct OEM replacement, our long tube headers bolt right in; no cutting or welding required. The 1-5/8″ primary tubes are mandrel bent to maximize exhaust flow and efficiency.

Z1 Motorsports Short Tube 370Z Headers

z1 370z headers

Our comment: Z1 have utilized the design of the discontinued ‘Momentum’ headers, to bring quite possibly the best short headers to the market. These are exceptional quality and a fantastic option if you have emissions concerns.

Short headers typically produce less power, but these are well known for keeping up with the long tube versions and people have claimed to achieve up to 16whp gains.

They do note that the driver’s side motor mount bracket will need to be clearanced, so it may be worth considering if these are on your radar.

Manufacturer description:Z1 Motorsports VQ Performance Headers are constructed with 1 3/4″ 16 gauge 304 stainless steel with 3/8″ flanges to prevent warping. The use of back purge TIG welding and mandrel bends creates the strongest headers with the most efficient airflow.

They feature equal length runners and merge style collectors for increased scavenging. The materials and craftsmanship are impeccable. Z1 headers are the nicest headers available for your VQ Powered Z.

PPE Engineering Long Tube 370Z Headers

ppe 370z headers

Our comment: PPE brings another fantastic addition to the market with their popular long tube headers. We would say these are almost as popular as Fast Intentions and once again feature fantastic quality with great long-term results.

One of the best things about the PPE offering which could well make it tempting is that they include ceramic coating for free to keep your engine temperatures down, whilst increasing power and providing corrosion protection.

Manufacturer description:The PPE 370Z/G37 long tube headers are designed for maximum power. Testing on a 2010 370Z Nismo showed a 23whp gain on a completely stock car. Excellent gains were also seen on the base 370Z and G37.

Evolution Performance Coatings polished ceramic coating comes standard and adds good looks along with thermal barrier properties that increase power and lower engine bay temps. They are also a great protection against corrosion.

Megan Racing Short Tube Headers

megan racing 370z headers

  • Manufacturer: Megan Racing
  • Fitment: Nissan 370Z
  • Value for money: ???
  • Purchase link: Discontinued

Our comment: There’s no doubt that Megan Racing bring the cheapest kit on our list, but does it come with quality? Megan often has a negative reputation in the tuning industry, however, these can often be false or exaggerated rumors.

Megan have sold quite a few of these headers, with many happy owners. We’re not sure about their longevity, and since it’s such a huge job to swap them out, we would perhaps consider going with one of the more tried-and-tested methods.

With that being said, if you have the time, the tools and you like to take risks, this may well be a bargain!

Manufacturer description:Megan Racing Stainless Steel Headers are made of thick T-304 Stainless Steel and are mandrel bent to form and fit your particular application with the best performance results possible while the thick flanges and strong welds prevent cracking and offer long lasting durability.

These Headers or Turbo Manifolds help your engine maximize its performance by allowing the exhaust gasses to flow more efficiently to gain power and performance.

Motordyne 370Z Long Tube Headers

motordyne 370z headers

Our comment: They’re in the higher price bracket, but that hasn’t stopped many owners opting for Motordyne’s unique Long Tube design. This is another great quality kit and even includes high flow cats to keep the noise levels down and also to help with emissions.

This kit may require a small o2 sensor cable modification, but other than that, it’s definitely a solid choice.

Manufacturer description:Motordyne Engineering – Infusing rocket science and aerospace technologies into automotive performance parts, innovating faster, more powerful and higher quality performance components to aerospace standards. High performance quality parts for Nissan and Infinitis.

For the past 5 years, Motordyne had successfully earned its reputation as delivering quality, performance and reliability. Through countless independent dyno reviews from satisfied customers, we take the expectation of our power hungry enthusiasts to a higher level of trust and confidence.

Fujitsubo 370Z Headers

fujitsubo 370z headers

Our comment: The first of the Japanese tuning houses arrives, and it’s Fujitsubo that bring their flawless quality to the market with this fantastic, reasonably priced long tube option. These headers provide impressive gains within the mid-power range.

When ordering, ensure that you are getting the LHD version.

Manufacturer description:Fujitsubo’s spirit is to “produce the highest quality products”. This has not changed since Fujitsubo was first established in 1931. This spirit does not only pertain to creating highly efficient and high quality exhausts and manifolds, but it also applies to our customer’s satisfaction.

Central 20 Short Tube 370Z Headers

central20 370z headers

Our comment: There’s very little to go on with regards to Central 20’s JDM offering and it certaianly is one of the rarer alternatives for 370Z owners. From the pictures we’ve seen, they look similar to the Z1/Momentum shorties, which is definitely a good thing.

Central 20 are known for being absolutely meticulous in their fabrication processes and quality with beautiful welds. If you’re looking to feature some different parts on your build to the norm, this could well be the perfect option.

MCR Long Tube 370Z Headers

mcr 370z headers

  • Manufacturer: MCR
  • Fitment: Nissan 370Z
  • Value for money: ????
  • Purchase link: Discontinued

Our comment: The second option in our JDM classics range is from MCR. Once again, there’s no doubt that it’s an absolute work of art, but it definitely comes at a price. These are more of a mid-length option, similar to Motordyne, and could be great for those who want to run high-flow cats.

For those of you with deeper pockets that want a unique product for your 370Z, we have no doubt MCR will be a great option, with its stunning design and traditional Japanese quality.

Manufacturer description:Matchless Crowd Racing (MCR), based in Saitma, Japan has grown to become a well known name throughout Japan and the world.

Demo vehicles in distinctive MCR red have set benchmarks in quality and performance.

Power House Amuse Titanium Short Tube 370Z Headers

amuse 370z headers

Our comment: Once you’ve stopped drooling and/or being stunned by the price, we introduce our most expensive offering and we just couldn’t leave Amuse off our list. These guys are known for being titanium wizards and their latest work of art weighs in at a ridiculous 2.7kg!

If you’re going for the ultimate build where money is not an issue, these will undoubtedly offer you fantastic strength and durability to go with your power gains. Pair these headers with their Titanium exhaust for the ultimate combination!

Manufacturer description:The R1 Titan Exhaust Manifold features full titanium construction for strength and durability as well as extreme weight reduction.

Powerhouse Amuse’s exhaust manifold weighs a mere 2.7kg over the oem 7.8kg.

DC Sports Short Tube 370Z Headers

dc sports 370z headers

Our comment: DC Sports bring another option for those of you after short headers for those of you that need to pass emissions testing or are looking for a quieter setup. These feature a great design and for the price point, they’re certainly worth considering.

However, for those on a budget, cheaper brands are often known to have more issues, so perhaps going for one of our 5* options would be a better choice. Since removing the headers is such a pain, it’s definitely not a job you’ll want to be doing too often. That being said, many 350Z owners have had good long term experiences with DC Sports.

If you’re after something a little different, they also have a polished alternative.

Manufacturer description:DC Sports header systems are precision-bent on our CNC mandrel benders using data acquired from our non-contact digitizing scanner. Our flanges are CNC machined, we machine-grind the flange mating surface to ensure a leak-free seal and use a robotic welder to attach the flange to the header pipes.

Our state-of-the-art manufacturing process ensures superior quality and a perfect fit with every header system we make. DC Sports Stainless headers are 304-stainless steel and available is a High Polished mirror-like luster or a Brushed finish that compliments any engine bay.

Our comment: Stillen are traditionally known for bringing some of the best products to the Fairlady market, but they, unfortunately, appear to have missed the mark a little this time.

It’s definitely not the best design on the market for fitment and performance reasons. Several people have reported fitment issues and very little power gains from the small collectors, some even claim a loss over the stock headers. They are the typically great build quality you’d expect from Stillen, but if you’re going for gains and ease of fitment then these definitely aren’t the favored option.

Manufacturer description:The STILLEN Z/G Headers are the finest available. With months invested in development work, these headers produce big increases in streetable power and torque on both naturally aspirated and forced induction vehicles.

The equal length design of the headers allows better and more efficient exhaust scavenging which contributes to the dyno tested performance gains.

Each header features 2 o2 bungs placed downstream of the collector so that you can utilize your factory upstream and downstream o2 sensors. The downstream o2 sensor bung utilizes a flow restrictor to help avoid CELs.

You will be required to extend your primary o2 sensor harness to meet the new location which is lower on the header.

Our winner

Our winner is the Fast Intentions 370Z Exhaust Headers

Fast Intentions bring arguably the best product to the market in our guide, but the PPE Long Tube headers are also an extremely popular competitor for those of you looking to go Long Tube.

For those of you that live in a state where you’re required to pass smog/emissions testing, the Z1 option is definitely the most popular Short Tube option, but the Motordyne option with cats added is a great alternative.

Nissan 370Z Stillen supercharger kit

When Nissan unveiled their most recent addition to the much-loved Fairlady family, the 370Z immediately went on to take the tuning world by storm.

Got a G37 and looking for a supercharger? We have an Infiniti G37 supercharger guide.

The Japanese manufacturer got it all just right when it came to shedding weight whilst also improving the looks and handling over the 350Z.

However, many owners will argue that the 370Z left the factory with an underwhelming amount of horses packed under the hood of their 3.7 liter V6 VQ37VHR engine.

This is where tuning houses across the world were handed the perfect opportunity to squeeze more power from the tamed beast as they still maintain reliability to make an ideal option for daily driving and the track alike.

Not sure if a supercharger is the right upgrade for your Z34? Check out our 370Z turbo kit guide.

STILLEN to the rescue

Stillen initially had competition from GTM/Gamma Motorsport in the 370Z supercharging scene, however with the latter failing to stay in business, it’s safe to say that former 300ZX racing legend Steve Millen’s ‘STILLEN’ option is by far the best choice available on the market.

For those of you who don’t know already, Steve Millen is also the uncle of Formula Drift Champion Rhys Millen.

Take a quick look at Steve Millen’s legendary 300ZX which handed him the most all-time wins in IMSA GTS history with 20 victories.

“Looking to extract more horsepower and torque from your 370Z, G37 or Q50? How does around 380HP at the wheels grab you?”

Since we assume you’ve already done the necessary upgrades to get the most out of your 370Z, such as a free-flowing exhaust and coilovers, a supercharger could well be the perfect compliment to end your quest for additional power!

With their 370Z kit opting for the Vortech V3 centrifugal supercharger which is capable of reaching over 500 horsepower (with supporting mods), the 50-state emissions compliant intercooled setup is available for purchase at Enjuku Racing.

Check out this awesome video where THE DRIVE head to the their factory to drive their fully custom 500hp 370Z:

Deciding your options

Since the above option comes with a cable enabling you to put the preset tuning method onto your ECU, you also have the option of a non-cable version of their polished-look supercharger kit if you want to get tuning done locally which is available here.

NISMO 370Z Supercharger

Should you have the Nismo offering of the 370Z, Stillen also have another kit which will be perfect for your needs, you can view all of their variations here.

Power on tap

One of the best things about the kit is that the setup to gift your Z with boosted goodness is straightforward with their off-the-shelf parts and a typical install time of just 12 hours.

Stillen 370Z Supercharger Kit

“Scenery gets blurry-in-a-hurry as the centrifugal Vortech blower spins up to hyperspeed with a telltale hiss.”

If you’re on a quest for big power, the Vortech V3 is more than capable of reaching over 500 horsepower with 9psi of intercooled boost pressure whilst delivering compressor efficiencies above 75%.

The V3 also benefits from a self-contained oiling system which is completely independent from the engine’s lubrication system.

The beast in action

We’ve searched the web to bring you some of the best offerings to decide whether supercharging is the ideal route for you.

Varying from dyno to full car reviews, we have no doubt that these videos will help you make your mind up!

DRIVN invite you to join them for a trip to the dyno where this stunning example of a 370Z pulls 410whp on the Stillen supercharger:

Test Drive Blogs give you a drive, walk-around, in-depth view and close-up look of the kit here in their video:

TheSmokingTire allow you the opportunity to get behind the wheel and experience how the supercharger feels when you hit the open road in this entertaining review.

The following quote was a personal highlight - “I don’t f**k around, I drive around with my dyno sheet in the car because people don’t believe me I’m just like ‘Read the sheet, man.”:

If you’re like us and are fascinated by the Nissan ‘Z’ series, check out Donut Media’s great video showing the history of these epic cars:

If dyno runs are your thing, Stillen have you covered as they show off a Nismo 370Z on the rolling road as they push the power from 277hp to 430hp!

Tell me more!

Now that you’ve enjoyed the videos you’re probably more tempted than ever to supercharge your 370Z. Here’s some more helpful information from the manufacturer regarding their off-the-shelf kit from Enjuku Racing:

“Looking to extract more horsepower and torque from your 370Z, G37 or Q50? How does around 380HP at the wheels grab you?”

“Add a dose of torque, better-than-stock heat management and airflow, 50 state emissions compliance and near stock fuel economy at low RPM. Now you’ve got the formula for superchargers done the STILLEN way.”

“We’re talking driveable horsepower too, suitable for daily drivers, canyon carvers and track days.”

“What does ‘driveable’ mean? Take an unsuspecting passenger for a low RPM cruise around town in your STILLEN supercharged Nissan 370Z, Infiniti G37 or Infiniti Q50. Keep a light touch on the gas pedal and they might be fooled into thinking there’s a bone stock motor under the hood.”

“They won’t suspect a thing….until you hit the town limit sign and crack the throttle wide open.”

“Scenery gets blurry-in-a-hurry as the centrifugal Vortech blower spins up to hyperspeed with a telltale hiss. The STILLEN designed and built intake manifold sucks in cubic yards of cool air. The remapped ECU fuel management module jacks the boosted fuel pump to inject the precise amount of high octane cocktail into the maelstrom.”

“Your right foot is orchestrating a symphony of controlled violence that delivers a linear, bottomless powerband. If you can peel your head off the headrest to sneak a glance at your passenger you’ll see instant enlightenment and heavy G’s at work.”

370Z Stillen supercharger tuning kit

The design

“STILLEN designed a new cast aluminium intake manifold specifically for this system, featuring longer runners and a large plenum for the engine to draw air. An integrated air-to-water intercooler system dramatically cools the air charge from the Vortech V-3 Supercharger unit.”

“The V-3 features a self-contained oiling system and quiet V-belt design, with plenty of additional boost capability for those wanting even more power down the road.”

“STILLEN took extreme care in designing this system, ensuring that all additional coolers (oil, transmission, power steering, etc) would work with the intercooler system, as the Nissan VQ37 engine is prone to high oil temperatures unless properly cooled.”

“At all levels of development the system was tested, both for street drivability and reliability under normal traffic and freeway conditions. Stillen drivers flogged the test car at El Toro Air Base, with repeated 140+ mph runs and hard driving on tight courses with excessive revving and redlining. Testing included extensive monitoring of all pertinent air and fluid temperatures.”

“They won’t suspect a thing… Until you hit the town limit sign and crack the throttle wide open.”

Cable or non-cable?

“To tune these supercharger systems STILLEN works with UPRev software. This software requires a license and a cable to load the tune into the vehicle’s ECU. The With Cable option is designed for customers who may not live near an UPrev certified tuner or for a dealership who is completing the installation. This is also a great solution for the DIY guy looking to install the kit in his garage.”

“The “without cable” option is supplied with all of the hardware and the tune. This solution is good for someone who is working with an UPrev pro tuner that already has the licenses and loading cable in their facility. This way you don’t need to pay extra for something you might already have access to. Either way, the tune is the same.”

Ease of installation

“One of the hallmarks of a STILLEN supercharger is ease of installation. Much of the assembly of the kit is completed here at STILLEN before we pack and ship your supercharger. The main supercharger unit is pre-assembled to the laser-cut billet aluminium mounting brackets. Installation is very straight forward, including detailed step-by-step instructions. Typical install time for a competent shop is 12 hours.”

These offer a firm, but not crashy ride which is still ideal for street use and are more than capable for the money when you head to the track. BC also offer their higher-end ‘ER’ series coilovers which are a competitior for the KW V3’s if you’re intending to do mostly track use.

Our comment: This entry-level option may suit those on a budget who are purely looking to improve their ride height and handling. Manufacturer description:Megan Racing EZII Series coilover system is aimed towards the more budget oriented enthusiast to offer the most basic essentials from an after-market coil-over setup, yet makes no compromises for quality and performance.

HKS Hipermax IV SP 370z Coilovers

  • Spring rate rear: Range of options available

  • Purchase link: Buy HKS Hipermax IV SP 370z Coilovers here

Our comment: Legendary Japanese tuning company HKS bring their hand with the highest price tag of our list. This option combines fantastic ride comfort which is close to stock comfort levels and fantastic handling alongside the typical quality you would expect from HKS.

These are a serious competitor for the KW V3’s and this may just boil down to personal preference, especially if you’re keen to maintain the JDM aspect on your car.

Manufacturer description:New generation sports suspension which brushes up the ride comfort in both street and sports use. This suspension kit is designed for high-grip radial tires which can be used on circuits. It is common to use a specially shaped spring for separated rear spring suspension.

A wide range adjustable straight coil spring is used in this set up. Suitable damper setting reduces unnecessary movement in sports use, which also improves drivability and create more grips on tires with fast response in cornering. Smooth and firmly feeling is defined in this set up.

Our winner

Our winner is the highly acclaimed KW Variant 3 coilover.

It was a close call between the superb HKS Hipermax III and the KW V3’s, but with no way of faulting the hugely popular KW’s, they’re undoubtedly the best bang for your buck purchase on our list but either option certainly won’t disappoint!

KW Variant 3 370z Coilovers

kw variant 3 370z coilovers

For those with a serious budget who are looking to get the best lap times available, we have no doubt that the KW V3’s will be the ulimate choice. HKS Hipermax III and the BC Racing ER’s are undoubtedly fantastic alternatives if there’s any reason you would prefer to not go with the KW offering.

Runner-up

Another set of coilovers which really stood out during our research of this article were our budget-offering – BC Racing BR’s. At under $1k, we struggle to believe you will be able to find a better coilover out there for the money. If you’re still intending to make further upgrades to your car and looking for a cheaper alternative, we have no doubt that the BR’s will be perfect for your needs.
